Environmental Law Program A Project of Designated Funds

The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Environmental Law Program (ELP) is committed to developing tomorrow's environmental leaders by addressing today's environmental challenges. For more than two decades Maryland's nationally ranked program has trained students to be environmental lawyers in government, non-profit, corporate, and private practice.

How can you help?

Your donation will support the ELP's goal to preserve, protect, and advocate for bettering the planet's natural environment. The success of the ELP is the product of our noteworthy faculty, very dedicated and talented students, and the generous support of our alumni and friends.

Your support makes it possible for our students to have unparalleled opportunities to engage directly in activities that include arguing mock cases before Maryland, national, and international judges; externing with the federal government, public interest law firms, and state agencies; and practicing as student attorneys in our Environmental Law Clinic which prepares our students for legal practice by working with the Clinic's non-profit clients to protect the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Your gift will help the ELP to expand opportunities for students outside the traditional legal education setting and beyond our national boundaries. The ELP has created a diverse program that supports law student scholarship and participation in global environmental issues, including participation in international conferences and development projects such as the Cross-Border Greywater Feasibility Project addressing water scarcity in Israel, Palestine, and Jordan.
